Our Terms and Conditions

  • We are independent Family Therapists and the contract of our work is with ourselves individually.

We are Systemic Psychotherapists/Family Therapists accredited by the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT) and are registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). We abide by the Codes of Practice of these organisations.  As Family Therapists working with children and young people, we have regular DBS checks.  We are fully insured for professional liability.

    Confidentiality

Maintaining confidentiality will be central to all aspects of our work.  There are however some important exceptions to confidentiality which are:

    ·       if there are concerns about harm to yourself, your child or others

    ·       if we are required to do so my law

Receiving regular supervision is a requirement to remain professionally registered and as such, we will receive supervision from other Family Therapists.  Supervision will involve discussing the content of our sessions and is important to ensure good professional practice.

    Records

Any written notes we make over the course of sessions are kept confidential and are stored securely.  No information will be disclosed without the client’s permission. We comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.

Please note that whilst you may wish to communicate via email we cannot ensure the confidentiality or security of email.

    Emergencies or crisis

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an emergency service or crisis appointments.  In this instance, we would recommend you would you arrange an urgent appointment with your GP.

    Cancellations

    ·       If you wish to cancel a session then please let us know at least 48 hours in advance and there will be no charge.

    ·       If you cancel on the day of the appointment then we will need to charge you 50% of the cost of the session, to account for our time and for room booking costs.

    ·       If you do not attend an arranged appointment without letting us know, then we will need to charge the full rate.

If we need to cancel a session, we will give you as much notice as we are able and there will be no cost to you.  We will only cancel at short notice (less than 24 hours) because of unforeseen circumstances such as ill health.

  • We created this CIC because we are passionate about being able to make high quality Family Therapy accessible to all. In the long run, we wish to offer as many reduced rate and pro bono sessions as we can afford. We are in the process of applying for funding and seeking donations to enable us to do this.

Sadly, in the meantime, we have to be mindful about creating a sustainable business so that we can get to our goal. Having only incorporated in November 2024 we are right at the beginning of our journey to fulfil our vision of creating ‘equal access family therapy’. While we are currently having to ask you to pay, we are also donating large amounts of our own time for free. For transparency, when we do pay ourselves, we only ever take what would be equivalent to an NHS graded wage.

For now, please can we ask:

    Fees

    Individual session (1hr)                   £80

    Couples session (1hr)                     £90

    Family session (1hr)            £100

Reflecting Team Family Therapy (i.e. 2 therapists) £150

If you can, we would love for you to pay just that extra £10, which will pay forward into our ‘grant and donation pot’ to provide future pro bono Family Therapy for families in financial need.

If you would like to talk to us about a sliding scale, please let us know.
